About
In school we learn how to work through math, science, and societal problems, but when do we learn to solve the questions that come from inside our hearts and minds?
The Science Behind Journaling:
Over 40 years of scientific research has demonstrated that journaling can actually reshape our brain, leading to improved resilience and a more positive outlook. Expressive writing can help you:
- Improve sleep
- Reduce anxiety and depression
- Relieve physical and emotional pain
- Feel more grateful and optimistic
- Find clarity
- Increase creativity
- Build resilience
- Develop compassion

Journal for Joy
Through journaling, we gain clarity about our emotions, needs, and goals. With consistent practice, expressive writing becomes a tool for self-acceptance and growth.
The Journal for Joy course is designed to give you hands-on tools to prevent and recover from burnout, make your way through life transitions, and extend the work you do with other mental health professionals.

About Abra
Having lived and taught in five countries on three continents, I am passionate about how language describes experiences and creates new realities. That’s what makes journal writing so compelling!
I am an experienced teacher, poet, and journal facilitator dedicated to helping people navigate the challenges of burnout and life transitions. My mission is to empower you to use journaling to reduce anxiety and develop self-love, optimism, gratitude, and joy.
Expressive writing has been instrumental in my recovery from post-covid burnout. I know first hand how powerful and life-changing journaling can be and would love to share what I’ve learned with you!
In my classes I work hard to create a respectful and thoughtful atmosphere where participants feel safe, valued, and heard. Together, we build community and support so that we feel connected to others who are on similar journeys.
